Sea life

Dear Friend’s,

It was a great pleasure to meet many of you in July at the Quilt Festival in Long Beach.
We enjoyed showing you the new collections and telling you how to use of our designs in fancy projects.
Peggy showed us how easy it is to create a magnificent look when using our new metallic embroidery thread. During the EXPO, Peggy embroidered a beautiful tiger design using Soft Light pink with a Frosted Pink filling and a metallic white for accent on a linen shirt.

Sea life collection:

California with its’ superb shoreline and the sea museums have inspired us to design and digitise some of the unique treasures of the sea for this new collection. The seahorse, octopus, jellyfish, fishes, crabs and other sea creatures are the subject of this collection. A few sea grass designs embroidered only with outlines compliment this collection greatly.

All these designs remind us of the summertime that we all enjoyed. With our lovely embroidered souvenirs, we can keep in our memories over the fall and winter days. It makes it even better when we surprise our friends and family with an embroidered gift.

Project ideas:

There are a lot of projects that can be done with these designs.
Simply embroider on readymade garments like tee-shirts, bath towels, bags and lots more.
What about a bathroom towel collection embroidered with sea designs? Or maybe you could
sell them in your neighbourhood. What is even more exciting is that you can embroider your own pendant in the colors and material you like. This makes your project even more valued and special.

Colors:

Color plays a powerful role in this collection. Use strong and rich colors for the details and
soft colors for the fillings that will give the design a soft silky sheen. The outline designs can be embroidered in gold or silver metalic or in any softlight metalic color. These colors can also be used for the fillings.

Urban’s Tip Basket:
Different embroidery machines handle metallic thread differently. If your Soft Light Metallic thread kinks and curls as it comes off the cone, try using a mesh spool net and/or position the cone further away and/or try a 75/11 Organ needle.
